The operations of low-cost domestic carrier Avolar and charter service Nova Air have been suspended, according to an announcement by the Mexican Ministry of Communications and Transportation, which attributed the suspensions to the alleged non-payment of air-rights fees.
A Mexican airport operator, Pacific Airport Group, said Avolar flights at five of its airports would be affected: Tijuana, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Guanajuato and Morelia.
Avolar said it had temporarily suspended ticket sales.
A posting on Avolar’s Web site said the suspension was unjustified and that the suspension would be temporary. The Web post also contended that the suspension was anti-competitive.
