United Airlines is operating as normal on Sept. 24 following a brief system stoppage overnight.
The stoppage was caused by a connectivity issue shortly before midnight Central time on Sept. 23, the carrier said. It lasted 36 minutes.
"During routine maintenance, our ability to connect to our technology network failed. Connections were quickly restored using backup systems," United said in an emailed statement.
The airline said the outage was not cybersecurity related.
The late hour of the stoppage meant United's operations have been mostly unaffected. The carrier had canceled only 12 flights as of 1 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday, according to FlightAware, and only 5% of United flights had been delayed.
