Virgin America will launch nonstop service between San Francisco and Puerto Vallarta on Dec. 2.
The flights will operate five days a week (no service on Mondays and Thursdays).
Virgin will compete with Alaska Airlines and United-Continental on the route.
The carrier currently serves Cancun and Los Cabos from both San Francisco and Los Angeles.
