Canada's WestJet has ordered 67 Boeing aircraft, with options for 29 more. The order entails 60 737 Max 10 narrowbodies with options for 25 more and seven 787-9 Dreamliners with options for four more.

WestJet currently operates 193 aircraft split between seven Dreamliners, 147 737s and 39 Bombardier A400 regional propeller planes.

"With the addition of these aircraft, WestJet has the largest order book of any airline in Canada and will double our fleet of Dreamliners, underpinning our growth plans and our commitment to affordable travel options for Canadians from coast-to-coast," WestJet CEO Alexis von Hoensbroech said.

The order extends WestJet's order book to 123 aircraft and 40 options, stretching the carrier's fleet-growth plans through 2034.

The Max 10 will be the largest Max variant. Certification has been delayed for several years amid stepped-up FAA scrutiny of Boeing and problems with the aircraft's de-icing system. In July, Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said he expects certification in 2026.
