Hertz introduced Hertz My Car, a vehicle subscription
service that enables customers to have access to a range of vehicles for $999 or
$1,399 per month.
The $999 option includes full-size sedans, small SUVs and
trucks (Volkswagen Tiguan, Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Altima or similar), and the
$1,399 option includes all of those choices plus regular SUVs, large trucks and
luxury sedans (Jeep Grand Cherokee, Infiniti QX60, Ford F-150, Cadillac CTS or
similar).
Customers can exchange their vehicle twice a month to
another make or model within the tier. The all-inclusive monthly subscription
covers vehicle maintenance, roadside assistance, vehicle damage and limited
liability protection.
Hertz is piloting the product in Austin and
Atlanta.
"Hertz My Car enables customers to choose vehicles that
best match their needs and offers freedom and flexibility from vehicle
ownership and maintenance costs, which is especially appealing to those seeking
alternatives to owning or leasing a car," said Jayesh Patel, Hertz senior vice
president of brand.
Enterprise introduced a similar service earlier this spring.
