BCD Travel has named David Mitchell its president of midmarket in North America, a move to strengthen BCD's midmarket presence.

Mitchell will continue in his role of president of Knoxville, Tenn.-based World Travel Service. In his new role, he will also oversee BCD's two other wholly owned midmarket TMCs: Acendas Travel of Mission, Kansas, and Adelman Travel Group of Milwaukee.
Mitchell joined World Travel Service in 2020. Before that, he held a number of senior roles in the business travel industry, including more than 13 years as BCD Travel's senior vice president of supplier relations in the Americas.
Mitchell reports to BCD Travel Americas president Craig Bailey, who called BCD's growth plans in the midmarket space "aggressive."
"The midmarket has bounced back quickly from the downturn in travel, and we expect that expansion to continue at a rapid clip," he said.
Adelman Travel Group recently announced the appointment of president and COO Jason Horstman, who will remain in his role. Brent Black will continue as president of Acendas. Both report to Mitchell.
