President Obama on Thursday pledged to enhance security without making air travel too onerous.
"We must do better with keeping dangerous people off airplanes while facilitating air travel," Obama said during a televised press briefing.
Obama said the country is now setting aside "significant investments" to deploy and develop enhanced screening methods and technology. He also called for improved international airport scanning procedures and technology.
But, the president said, "We will not succumb to a siege mentality."
