Best Western International said Vib (pronoubced “vibe”), its
new lifestyle brand, is scheduled to make its U.S. debut in Chicago.
The 74-room Vib Chicago will be located near Midway Airport,
and is slated to open by late summer 2016.
The 200-room Vib Miami, which will be part of a development
near that city’s new Expo Center, will break ground in November and is
scheduled to open by the end of next year.
Best Western last fall unveiled Vib (short for “vibrant”),
saying the brand will be targeted toward young travelers to cities. The hotels
will have large lobbies, gaming pods and smart TVs in guest rooms that will be
able to stream content.
Last month, Best Western reached its first agreement for a
Vib hotel, saying that a 148-room property would be built in Seoul, South Korea.
