Dream Hotel Group, parent company of the Dream, Time,
Chatwal and upcoming Unscripted brands, said it will open an additional nine
hotels by the end of 2020.
Dream Hotel Group chairman Sant Singh Chatwal said Dream had
signed more hotel deals in the last six months than during any other year in
the company’s history, representing $750 million in new property development.
The new hotels will include the group's first two in the
Caribbean, Time and Unscripted properties that are due to open in the Dominican
Republic in 2019.
The other new locations are a Dream and Unscripted hotel in
Vietnam, both slated to open in the fall of this year; the Chatwal Lodge,
opening in late 2018 in upstate New York; the Chatwal Maaga and Dream Gasveli
in the Maldives, in 2019 and 2020, respectively; an Unscripted in Dallas-Fort
Worth in 2019; and a Dream in Delhi, set to open in 2019.
There are currently 16 Dream Hotel Group properties and 26 in
the pipeline, including the nine newly announced locations. If the plans are
realized, the company will have 42 hotels and 10,034 rooms, Dream said.
Dream's Unscripted lifestyle brand will become Dream's
fastest-growing brand, the company said, starting with its first location in
Durham, North Carolina, in July.
Beyond this round of hotel deals, Dream said it plans to
sign more than 150 hotel and resort deals across all its brands in the next
four years.
