Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts will debut the first private
island in its portfolio this December in the Maldives.
The five-acre Four Seasons Private Island Maldives at
Voavah, opening Dec. 1, can accommodate up to 22 people in seven bedrooms,
including overwater bungalows. The property has a central beach house, dive
center, spa and a 62-foot yacht to take guests to other Maldives islands.
Armando Kraenzlin, regional vice president and general
manager of the Four Seasons Resort Maldives, said that the island’s guests can “design
their own experience.”
“You can make it your retreat,” he said. “It can be a spa
retreat, a family retreat, a dive retreat.”
The island’s Beach House has an open-air living
room, dining room, kitchen, pool deck, gym, library and loft lounge, while
seven bedrooms are spread out over three locations: the beach, the lagoon and
elevated “Mezzanine Suites.” The island’s Oceans of Consciousness Spa offers
overwater spa treatments as well as yoga, meditation and salon services.
Its 62-foot private yacht, the Voavah Summer, will take
guests on excursions ranging from snorkeling with manta rays to diving with
whale sharks to visiting local islands, including other Four Seasons Resorts.
The private island will join the company’s two Maldives properties, the Four
Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru and Four Seasons Resort Maldives at
Kuda Huraa.
The island is accessible via a 40-minute seaplane flight
from Malé International Airport, or a 20-minute speedboat ride from the Four
Seasons Resort. Nightly rates range from $38,000 to $46,000, depending on the
season.
