The Halekulani Okinawa has begun accepting reservations ahead
of its July 26 opening.
The resort is located within the Japanese island's Kaigan
Quasi-National Park in Onna village. All 360 guestrooms will offer ocean views
and will range from 538-square-foot standard rooms to suites measuring up to
3,164 square feet, with "a classy and simple color scheme that sets off
the sublime view outside the windows," said Halekulani parent company
Mitsui Fudosan.
Its four restaurants
will include an all-day dining venue; a restaurant specializing in steak and
wine; a Japanese restaurant; and Innovative, whose menu will be overseen by
Michelin-starred chef Hiroyasu Kawate of French restaurant Florilege in Tokyo.
The Okinawa property will be the second hotel to bear the
Halekulani name. The Halekulani in Honolulu opened in 1917 and reopened in 1984
after an overhaul by Mitsui Fudosan.
