Hilton: 48% of corporate travelers have sleep problems

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- Nearly half of American business travelers suffer from travel-related sleep disorders, according to a survey conducted by Hilton Hotels Corp.

The precise figure was 48%, and that means about 20 million travelers are being affected by sleep problems.

Hilton, of course, is here to save the day, and the company has formed a system of Travel Lifestyle Centers at nearly 50 hotels in the U.S.

The Travel Lifestyle Centers offer three types of rooms, Hilton Sleep-Tight, Hilton Health-Fit, and Hilton Stress-Less.

The chain worked with three organizations -- the National Sleep Foundation, the American Institute of Stress and the Biobehavioral Lab -- to develop the room types.

Each type of room has more than 20 amenities that are designed to provide better sleep.

These include a special pillowtop mattress, aromatherapy products, a circadian light box, and a soothing sound machine.

The latest hotel to get the treatment is the Hilton Garden Inn at Los Angeles International. The property will feature all three types of rooms.
