Honeywell will start selling hotel room thermostats that can be controlled by Amazon's Alexa voice-activated technology.

In addition to controlling heat and air conditioning, the Inncom e7 Thermostat allows voice-activated lighting and drapery controls, and can be programmed for TV and video on-demand controls.

The product can reduce energy costs by automatically setting empty rooms to room temperature.

Honeywell says its thermostats are in more than 1.5 million hotel rooms worldwide.
