InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will absorb Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants' Kimpton Karma loyalty program next year, giving loyalty members of the boutique-hotel group perks at more than 5,200 IHG properties worldwide.
As of Jan. 1, Kimpton Karma's Tier 1 members will automatically become IHG Rewards Club's Club members, while Karma's Tier 2 members will become IHG Rewards Club's Gold Elite members.
Karma members will keep perks such as complementary mini-bar items and $30 spa credits, while gaining amenities such as discounted rates for booking direct, no cancellation fees and mobile check-out capabilities.
Kimpton Hotels has more than 60 hotels in its portfolio and is gradually expanding its presence outside of the U.S. IHG, whose brands include InterContinental, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza, acquired Kimpton in early 2015. The U.K.-based company has more than 100 million loyalty-club members.
