Iberostar Hotels & Resorts plans to open its first U.S. property in New York next month and its second in Miami Beach by the end of the year.

The New York hotel, slated to open June 15, is being redeveloped out of an 88-year-old building at Park Avenue and East 38th Street. The 16-story property will have 205 guestrooms and a ground-floor coffee bar and tavern.

The Miami Beach property, the 96-rom Iberostar Berkeley, will be redeveloped out of a 1940s art deco building.

Iberostar will be the third Spanish hotel company to debut operations in New York this year. Melia Hotels International recently opened its 313-room Innside Manhattan. And in March, Riu Hotels & Resorts opened the 647-room Riu Plaza New York Times Square.
