STOWE, Vt. -- Unexplored Travel Network, operator of the Inntopia.com Web site
for booking independent hotels, agreed to acquire Resort Automation
Inc.
Resort Automation is purveyor of a central reservations system
adaptable for hotels, tour operators and call centers.
The system is in use primarily by ski resorts, but the linkup
with UTN is expected to allow the vendor to broaden its base,
according to founder and chief executive officer John Gordon. UTN,
for its part, said the deal will enable it to offer more
business-to-business technology solutions in the lodging
industry.
The firm's Inntopia site will incorporate the Resort Automation
technology.
UTN also is planning to introduce a Web site for high-end luxury
adventure travel, which has something to do with why the firm is
named what it is.
