Travel search engine Kayak, which opened its first branded hotel in Miami Beach in April, has added two hotels in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

Kayak Sol and Kayak Luna are both located in the Caribbean beach town and will start welcoming guests on Dec. 13. Reservations books are open.

The hotels will offer self check-in and digital tools that enable guests to communicate with staff directly.

The 20-room Kayak Luna was formerly called the Marquee and cultivates a vibrant nightlife atmosphere, while the 31-room Kayak Sol was previously known as Calixta and is designed for guests focused on getting sun and beach time.

Both properties have rooftop pools and restaurants.

The hotels are one block away from each other. Guests enjoy reciprocal access to amenities.

New York-based Life House will manage the hotels' day-to-day operations.
