Luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton is planning a foray into the hospitality sector, with CEO Michael Burke recently telling Women's Wear Daily that Louis Vuitton's Paris headquarters is on track to become a hotel and retail complex.

In an interview, Burke told the fashion trade publication that he aims to open the hotel within the next five years.

Although the hotel will be a first for the brand, it won't be the first hotel for Louis Vuitton parent company LVMH, which also has boutique luxury hotel brand Cheval Blanc and high-end hospitality group Belmond within its fold.

The Louis Vuitton property will join the Cheval Blanc Paris in LVMH's Parisian hotel portfolio.
