Mexico’s first Nickelodeon resort is scheduled to open in the Riviera Maya by
the end of next year.
The all-inclusive resort will be operated by Karisma Hotels & Resorts. The beachfront property
will have 288 suites in one-, two- and three-bedroom configurations.
Ground-floor suites will be “swim up,” while every upper-floor suite will have
access to an infinity pool.
The “casual luxury” property,
which broke ground earlier this month, will feature guest visits from
Nickelodeon characters such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer and the
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Amenities include six restaurants and
lounges, a “food truck experience,” complimentary baby food and strollers, and
organic produce from a 75,000-square-foot greenhouse adjacent to the resort.
Nickelodeon first non-U.S.
property will open next month in Punta
Cana, Dominican Republic. That resort on Uvero Alto Beach
is taking reservations for stays starting June 12.
The first Nickelodeon resort
opened in Orlando in 2005. That property will be reflagged as the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites – Waterpark on
June 1.
