Oasis
Hotels & Resorts, which currently operates seven all-inclusive
properties in Mexico and four in the Dominican Republic under the
Oasis Hotels & Resorts brand and the Grand Oasis Deluxe
All-Inclusive Resorts & Spas brand, launched a third brand
called Sens (French for "senses").
Oasis's current room
inventory totals 4,000 rooms in Mexico and 2,600 in the Dominican
Republic.
Already in operation is
the 58-room Sens Cancun, while the 260-room Sens del Mar by Oasis
in Cancun will open in December.
The Sens properties are
Zen-like boutique hotels which feature decor and design intended to
appeal to the five senses (sight, sound, smell, taste and touch),
according to Enrique Klein, vice president of sales and marketing
for Trav America, which represents the Oasis brands.
"Sens properties are
chic and trendy, providing a minimalist ambiance. The goal at Sens
is to seduce the guest' senses," Klein said.
Accommodations at the
Sens Cancun include king beds, plasma TVs, Internet access, iPod
docking stations and customized aromatherapy scents. The Sens del
Mar will feature will feature similar facilities and
services.
Current Oasis
properties include the Oasis Cancun; the Oasis Viva Beach, Oasis
Palm Beach, and Oasis America, all in Cancun.
Grand Oasis's Mexico
properties include the flagship Grand Oasis Cancun, the Grand Oasis
Playa (both in Cancun) and the Grand Oasis Riviera Maya. The
385-room Grand Oasis Caribbean Resort will open in December in
Cancun.
Oasis also operates
four properties in the Dominican Republic: the Grand Oasis Punta
Cana; the Grand Oasis Marien in Puerto Plata; Oasis Hamaca in Boca
Chica; and Oasis Canoa Beach in Bayahibe, La Romana.
