The Hotel Viking in Newport, Rhode Island, has closed for a renovation and will reopen in May 2026.
The 208-room hotel, which opened in Newport's historic Bellevue Avenue district in 1926, will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year.
As part of the project, the hotel's original architecture will be preserved, with the renovation also delivering "refined, residential touches." Guestrooms, public spaces and meeting and event areas will receive a refresh.
The hotel will add four new food and beverage concepts, all led by chef Robert Andreozzi, a two-time James Beard Award nominee. The concepts will include a French Riviera-inspired seafood restaurant, a rooftop bar, a courtyard beer garden and a cafe and market offering grab-and-go fare.
The renovation follows private equity firm KHP Capital Partners' acquisition of the Hotel Viking last year.
The property will be managed by Pivot, the lifestyle-focused arm of hotel management company Davidson Hospitality Group.
