Rosewood Hotels & Resorts is now operating a hotel in Washington, D.C., taking over management of a Capella hotel. The property has been renamed the Rosewood Washington, D.C.

CTF Development International acquired the 49-room hotel from Castleton Hotel Partners for $65 million.

The hotel, located in the city’s Georgetown neighborhood next to the C&O Canal, includes Grill Room restaurant and the Rye Bar as well as a rooftop bar.

The property was redeveloped from the former Trial Lawyers Association building and opened as Capella’s first U.S. property in 2013. The only remaining Capella hotel in the U.S. is Alabama’s Hotel at Auburn University, though Capella will open a hotel under its Solis brand next year in Atlanta.
