Station Casinos has received approval to build Durango, a hotel-casino in Las Vegas' southwest valley off the 215 Beltway and Durango Drive.

Station, a specialist in Las Vegas locals casinos, says Durango will be "inspired by the warm colors and vibrant landscapes of the desert."

"Durango will offer locals and visitors alike a boutique gaming and resort experience with the approachable and desired amenities for which Station Casinos is known," the company said.

Plans call for 83,000 square feet of casino space, a 200-room hotel tower, four food-and-beverage outlets, a food hall concept featuring fast-casual local restaurants, a race and sportsbook, a pool with private cabanas and an event lawn, 20,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, and 40 electric vehicle charging stations.

A second phase could see the construction of another 200-room hotel tower and an expansion of the casino.

Station plans to start construction in the first quarter of 2022.
