Taj Hotels has signed a $58 million
agreement to acquire the luxury Campton Place hotel in San
Francisco from the Kor Group.
Located at
Stockton Street near Union Square, the Campton Place is Taj Hotel's
first property on the West Coast and its third in the U.S. Taj
manages the Pierre in New York and owns the Taj Boston in
Beantown.
"With the
acquisition of The Campton Place, we can now offer business and
leisure travelers our signature Taj hospitality in the top U.S.
gateways of New York, Boston and San Francisco," Raymond Bickson,
CEO and managing director of Taj Hotels, said.
"The Campton
Place has enjoyed an enviable reputation throughout its 24-year
history, and we aim to enhance its stature in the city when we
assume ownership on April 30."
The Campton Place
features 101 rooms and nine suites; a restaurant and bar; and a
fitness center and in-room spa services.
