SAN DIEGO -- The U.S. Grant Hotel here became affiliated with
Starwood Hotels & Resorts' Luxury Collection, which signed a
long-term agreement with the historic, 285-room hotel's owners,
U.S. Grant Hotel Ventures.
The hotel, which was built in 1910, will officially become part
of the collection in January 2005.
"The hotel has a tradition of first-class hospitality and is
synonymous with a one-of-a-kind guest experience consistent with
the rest of The Luxury Collection hotels around the world," said
Michael Gallegos, president and CEO of American Property Management
Corp., the company that manages the property.
The US Grant Hotel will be Starwood's seventh property in city,
along with the Westin Horton Plaza, W San Diego, Sheraton San Diego
Hotel & Marina, Sheraton Suites San Diego, Four Points by
Sheraton San Diego and Four Points by Sheraton Rancho Bernardo.
