Dennis Odom, who founded Blue Sky Tours together with his brother Jay in 1981, is retiring on June 1.

Odom currently serves as vice president of operator, which specializes in Hawaii vacations. Kevin Willmore, director of operations and planning, will become vice president and general manager.

The Odom brothers founded Blue Sky Tours to help agents build specialized programs to Hawaii. The tour operator was then acquired by The Mark Travel Corp. in 1998.

"Dennis has left a permanent legacy on the Hawaii travel market," Bill La Macchia, chairman of Mark Travel, said in a statement. "He and his brother created a unique and industry-leading company."

Wilmore joined Mark Travel in 1994 and Blue Sky Tours in 2004. He has been charged with leading the company during the transition, Mark Travel said. Blue Sky Tours will remain headquartered in Albuquerque, N.M.
