For the 2018 sailing season, Globus has partnered with New
York-based Victoria Cruises to offer Yangtze River sailings in combination with
China land tours.
Globus had offered Yangtze sailings with Victoria until 2012
when sister brand Avalon Waterways inked a charter deal with Chinese company
Century Cruises. For 2018, Avalon is no longer offering Yangtze cruises.
The four-day cruises will sail on the 264-passenger Victoria
Katarina. The cruises are part of two itineraries: the 12-day "Classic
China & the Yangtze" and the 14-day "Flavors of China & the
Yangtze."
On one excursion, passengers will board a smaller craft for
an 18-mile roundtrip journey along a tributary of the Yangtze that is home to
several protected species of monkeys as well as a variety of Chinese medicinal
herbs.
The sailing will take passenger through the Yangtze's
renowned Three Gorges region.
