U.K.-based wholesaler JacTravel has accelerated its
expansion into the U.S. with the opening of an office in Orlando.
JacTravel CEO Terry Williamson said the U.S. is the company’s
fastest-growing destination.
“We have already exceeded our target set for this year, and
see tremendous opportunities to accelerate that growth, hence the added
investment, with a plan to double our turnover in America next year,”
Williamson said in a statement.
The company’s U.S. office is overseen by Susan Stiner,
regional head of contracting for the Americas, who is working with a team of
four staff members to execute the U.S. expansion plans. She is in the process
of recruiting additional team members.
JacTravel, which specializes in hotel contracts and inbound
travel services, has plans to significantly grow its hotel network throughout
the Americas. JacTravel’s U.S. portfolio currently numbers over a thousand
hotels.
During the past year, the highest growth regions in
JacTravel’s U.S. operations have been in Florida, particularly Miami and
Orlando, where bookings have increased by more than 55%; Chicago, where the
uplift has more than doubled; and New York, which JacTravel attributes to the
opening of upscale hotels and a willingness of travelers to choose Lower
Manhattan and Brooklyn as alternatives to midtown.
JacTravel is headquarted in London, and has offices in
Cluj-Napoca, Romania; Dubai; Dublin; Edinburgh, Scotland; Hong Kong, Larnaca, Cyprus;
Orlando, Prague, Czech Republic; Stockholm, Sweden; Targu Mures, Romania; and
Vancouver. It also has local representatives in Barcelona; Berlin, Germany; Cape
Town, South Africa; Delhi; Frankfurt; Johannesburg, South Africa; Los Angeles;
Madrid; Mexico City; Munich, Germany; New York; Paris; Sao Paulo, Brazil;
