MANCHESTER, England -- A spokesman for U.K.-based Airtours would not comment on reports circulating in the industry that the company plans to change its name to MyTravel, a name formerly owned by TSI, which was purchased by Airtours in early 2000.

According to reports, Airtours' will rebrand as part of a new e-commerce strategy, which originally was slated for announcement Sept. 27, but was postponed until Nov. 27 because of the attacks in the U.S.

Airtours' Going Places and Travelworld storefronts will be rebranded MyTravel in November. In February, Airtours will seek shareholder approval to change the company name.

The company's airline Airtours International will also be re-branded MyTravel. The Airtours brand will be maintained for the company's mass market tour packaging operation.
