Tauck clamps down on agent discounting

NORWALK, Conn. -- Tauck World Discovery initiated a policy that prohibits retailers from advertising and promoting its products at rates lower than the operator's published prices.

Company president Robin Tauck said that agencies who sell Tauck products should differentiate themselves based on service, not discounts.

"We are a high-service, high-customer satisfaction company, and must take this step to protect and preserve our brand," she said. "It is our goal to strengthen our relationship with the travel agency community as a whole and to provide a uniformly high level of service to our guests."
