Trafalgar has launched a collection of tours designed for small groups.

The tour operator is debuting 22 itineraries in its Small Group Tours portfolio. The tours accommodate up to 18 guests.

Trafalgar created the itineraries to serve travelers who want more in-depth tours -- something that's difficult to pull off with large groups. Trafalgar said a customer analysis and engagement with the trade revealed a demand for small-group tours.

Trafalgar said tours were created for "culturally curious travelers, typically 40 and older, who want meaningful local interactions beyond traditional sightseeing."

"These trips are designed for a different type of traveler than a classic tour, someone who seeks experiences that bring travelers even closer to the people, places and stories that make a destination real," said Melissa DaSilva, deputy CEO and chief sales officer of TTC Tour Brands, whose portfolio of brands includes Trafalgar.

"For advisors, that means a new way to serve clients who are looking for something more personal without losing the Trafalgar signature experiences and support they know and trust."

The itineraries span the globe and include Spain, France, Borneo and South Africa.

While in Borneo, travelers will visit the founder of the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn more about the conservation work. In South Africa, guests visit a Swazi chief's village in Eswatini to meet community members.
