ASTA's tool for advisors to report delayed hotel commission payments is live. The online reporting tool, ASTA said, is "designed to collect and escalate advisor concerns directly with hotel partners, shining a light on the scope of late or missing payments."

Advisors are urged to fill out the form if they haven't been paid 45 days after a client's stay is complete. If the offending hotel is an ASTA member, the Society will begin its dispute-resolution process. If the hotel is not an ASTA member, the Society can't engage with it directly. However, ASTA will track reports from members, and offenders will be placed on a watchlist of those flagged by members for delayed or nonpayment of commissions.

"This tool brings accountability to the commission process, highlighting where delays are most common and giving ASTA the leverage to address them directly with hotels," ASTA president and CEO Zane Kerby said. "By shining a spotlight on this issue, ASTA is making clear that late payments are unacceptable and must be corrected if our industry is to thrive."
