ASTA on Monday announced a number of new hires and promotions that have taken place since the beginning of the year.

The staffing changes come, the Society said, to "grow its communications, industry affairs, membership and business development capacity as the industry begins its recovery from the coronavirus pandemic."

New members of the ASTA team are:

Alvin Adriano, director of industry affairs. Adriano was most recently president and CEO of the agency Travelwise International in Fort Washington, Md.

Summer Corbitt, director of business development. Previously, Corbitt had been the director of sales and marketing at Uniglobe Travel Center since 2016.

Rob Fleming, director of information technology. Fleming joins ASTA from the Society of Interventional Radiology, where he worked since 2020. Before that, he worked at the Associated General Contractors of America.

Mackenzie Drehoff, manager of events. Drehoff previously held positions at TriVistaUSA Design + Build, Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine and Sheraton Baltimore North.

Emma Curran, coordinator of events (attendees). Curran joins the Society from Indian Harbour Beach Oral Surgery in Indian Harbour Beach, Fla.

Erin Hulscher, coordinator of business development. Hulscher joins ASTA from the Alzheimer's Association, and previously held roles at Travel and Transport (now CTM North America) and Krave the Experience Day Spa.

In addition, four ASTA officials have received promotions:

Sarah Little is now vice president of business development. Little has been with the Society since 2012, most recently as senior director of business development. She replaces Kelly Bigel, who left ASTA last year, and will oversee the business development and events portfolio.

Erika Richter, previously the senior director of communications, was promoted to vice president of communications and marketing. In addition to continuing with her internal and external communications duties, she adds event and membership marketing to her responsibilities. Richter has been with the Society since 2015.

Jasmine Causey, ASTA's new director of chapter relations, making her the main liaison between headquarters and the Society's chapters around the country. Causey previously served as senior manager of chapter relation and has been with the Society since 2014.

Lou Altobelli, who had served as coordinator of advocacy, was promoted to manager of advocacy. Altobelli has been with ASTA since 2019 and manages the day-to-day operations of grassroots activity and ASTAPAC, the society's political action committee.
