ASTA executive vice president of advocacy Eben Peck will leave the travel advisor organization on Oct. 12.

In an email sent to ASTA members on Monday, president and CEO Zane Kerby said Peck is moving to another opportunity in the industry.

Kerby also said Peck's contributions to ASTA in his nearly 12 years there "cannot be overstated."

"Eben's integrity, judgment, graciousness and persuasive power guided ASTA through many challenges facing both our organization and industry, including the difficult days of the pandemic," Kerby said. "He has been a major force in achieving the solid footing ASTA and our members enjoy today."

Peck joined ASTA as senior vice president of government and public affairs in 2012. Five years later, he was promoted to his current role.

Kerby listed a number of his achievements with the organization, including getting travel advisors off the Department of Labor's so-called "blacklist" that left agencies unable to take advantage of exemption to overtime rules; fighting for pandemic-era financial assistance for travel agencies; and securing travel advisors an exemption from California's restrictive worker-classification legislation.

During Peck's time with the Society, Kerby said, ASTA's legislative and regulatory victories have saved the industry around $720 million. He also raised ASTA's annual political fundraising to more than $800,000.

"In short, Eben leaves a legacy of immense professional achievement," Kerby said.
