Frontier Airlines is withdrawing from ARC on March 7, which means agents who sell Frontier tickets will have to settle directly with the airline.

Agencies typically settle with non-ARC carriers online.

Travel attorney and Travel Weekly columnist Mark Pestronk said that the move will make it harder for agencies to deal with Frontier.

Ultra-low-cost Spirit Airlines does not settle through ARC. Southwest Airlines is both in and out of ARC, noted Pestronk, as agents can issue tickets and settle through ARC or make reservations and pay on behalf of their clients directly with Southwest.

Frontier is asking agents to submit any outstanding transactions in IAR reports before March 7. Agents may also contact the airline's help desk at (800) 243-6297.
