Host agency InteleTravel acquires events company: Travel Weekly

InteleTravel (No. 26 on Travel Weekly's 2023 Power List) has acquired events company McVeigh Global Meetings & Events for an undisclosed sum.

The Delray Beach, Fla.-based host agency said the acquisition and subsequent revenue stream will help fuel the value proposition of another one of its companies: corporate travel agency consortium Hickory Global Partners. InteleTravel acquired Hickory last year.

"The MGME integration will empower Hickory member corporate agencies and travel departments to offer their clients award-winning event production, meeting planning, conference logistical services and creative development," InteleTravel said.

All three companies will benefit from an increase in purchasing power and business opportunities and synergies, according to InteleTravel. Some early examples include an educational program for InteleTravel advisors to generate leads for McVeigh services, McVeigh enhancing InteleTravel's events, and Hickory providing air fulfillment for McVeigh events.

McVeigh, which produces more than 1,000 events and conferences each year, will remain an independent brand wholly owned by InteleTravel.
