Host agency InteleTravel (No. 26 on Travel Weekly's Power List) has partnered with Royal Caribbean to subsidize ASTA membership for its advisors.
ASTA membership at the advisor level usually costs $239 per year. With this program, the first-year membership cost is split between the advisor, InteleTravel and Royal Caribbean. Advisors are offered a second-year membership with the same terms.
The membership deal is available to top-selling advisors, InteleTravel said. To qualify, advisors had to complete Royal Caribbean's University and Masters of Adventure certifications.
In total, 461 advisors are new ASTA members thanks to the program, InteleTravel said.
"InteleTravel's overall mission is to help our advisors succeed in their business," said Tara Minson, InteleTravel's executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "We support ASTA's professional education initiatives and advocacy efforts. Royal Caribbean was the perfect partner to kick off what we hope will be an annual program."
