MSC Cruises
said its new agent reservations tool, MSC Book, has begun to take live
bookings.
The system
has been in a development phase, but went live on June 30.
MSC Book offers more functionality, speedier transaction times, better short
cuts and search functions and the capacity to save multiple searches and other
information for quick recall, the cruise line said.
Among other
things, agents can compare prices, dates, itineraries and any additional
items included in the price for up to three cruises on a single page and
pick staterooms via an interactive deck plan, which allows travel agents to
browse by deck and position of the stateroom and quickly see stateroom
availability for the category selected.
As an incentive to try out and learn the system, MSC
is offering a bonus 2%
commission for all FIT bookings made on MSC Book between now and Dec. 31,
2015. Agents will also be entered for a chance to win a
seven-night Caribbean cruise in the MSC Yacht Club on MSC Divina for each
individual booking made on MSC Book through September 30.
This
summer, MSC sales executives will travel to 19 cities to conduct hands-on
interactive MSC Book training.
