Host agency Travel Planners International has named Calvin Rodriguez vice president of sales engagement, while sister company, franchisor Vacation Planners, appointed Kara McCarty operations manager.

Rodriguez joins TPI from Carnival Cruise Line, where he spent 23 years, most recently as key account director.
Last year, he was named TPI's Business Development Manager of the Year.
McCarty joins Vacation Planners with more than 20 years' experience, most recently chief of staff to the CEO of Apprio, which specializes in automation for healthcare companies.
Previously, she held a number of roles at IBM Global Business Solutions.
