Virtuoso’s conference will not be a live event this year, and
the travel agency network is crafting a virtual alternative.
Virtuoso Travel Week was to be held Aug. 9 to 13 in Las Vegas.
In a message to members on Thursday, Virtuoso CEO Matthew
Upchurch said, “While this pandemic has continued its march across the world,
we waited in hopes of seeing a level of recovery that would allow us to convene
this August. It’s become painfully obvious that Virtuoso Travel Week 2020
cannot take place in its traditional format in Las Vegas as originally
scheduled.”
Upchurch said the virtual event will include an opening
ceremony on Aug. 10, as well as an “Under One Sky” sustainability seminar. He
said other programming will be announced soon.
