YTB International reported, in a filing Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission, that has been named in a second class-action lawsuit within a week.
YTB did not name or characterize the new plaintiffs, but it said the plaintiffs filed a suit that makes similar claims to those made on Aug. 8 by two former referring travel agents, charging that YTB operates an illegal pyramid scheme in violation of the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act.
As with the first suit, the new case was filed in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Illinois. The new case named as defendants YTB International, its three subsidiaries and a number of company executives.
YTB said it "believes it has meritorious defenses and intends to vigorously defend both cases."
