Amadeus sales platforms will begin displaying the airline merchandising
content of Routehappy by ATPCO.
The agreement, announced by the companies Monday, follows on
the heels of ATPCO's Feb. 1 acquisition of Routehappy.
Routehappy-supported displays include photographs and
descriptions of airline products, such as photographs of a lie-flat pod, an
economy seat or a meal that would come with the purchase of a ticket.
Amadeus will be the second GDS to integrate Routehappy
content into its booking platform. Sabre and Routehappy first came to terms in
September 2016.
The Amadeus deal is more extensive, however, because it
allows for the GDS to make agreements with OTAs, metasearch websites and
corporate booking tools for the redistribution of Routehappy content.
"Our Routehappy partnership forms part of our growing
suite of merchandising capabilities for airlines and travel sellers,"
Amadeus senior vice president of travel channels Decius Valmorbida said in
prepared remarks. "Photos, videos and descriptors help drive conversion
and differentiation for airlines, but also mean agents can deliver a more
comprehensive service and experience to their customers."
