Expedia Inc. will acquire a majority stake in SilverRail
Technologies, a company that has partnered with Expedia.
SilverRail is a rail retailing and distribution platform. It
distributes tickets for over 35 providers and carriers, and processes over 25
million bookings annually.
The transaction is expected to close mid-year.

ready to be a part of it," Expedia CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said in a
statement. "Rail's shift online is one of the fastest growing areas of
innovation in the $1.3 trillion travel market, and SilverRail is powering that
innovation. We are tremendously excited to welcome the incredibly talented
SilverRail team into the Expedia family."
