Google is growing the number of vacation rentals available
via its Hotel Search tool.
Google had previously added a modest number of vacation
rentals to the platform in 2017, offering limited inventory in select markets.
Starting today, however, Google says it will significantly
boost the number of vacation rentals available worldwide on Hotel Search, displaying
a "wider assortment" of listings from partners like Expedia,
HomeAway, Hotels.com, RedAwning, TripAdvisor and VRBO.
Google will focus on showing entire home units, with
accommodation types ranging from apartments to villas to traditional homes.
Users will be able to filter rental properties by provider, location, number of
guests, price, number of bedrooms, guest ratings and amenities.
The expanded selection of vacation rentals will initially be
available exclusively on mobile, with the function extending to desktop in the
coming months.
