HomeAway has introduced virtual tours in a pilot test that
enables property managers and homeowners to display walk-throughs of their
properties on HomeAway and VRBO.
The product supports a range of virtual tours, from those
filmed on personal phones to professional footage, which HomeAway said is "unique
in the vacation rental industry."
HomeAway said the product is being tested in "key
destinations."
"The barriers to entry for virtual technology have
never been lower," said Ben James, senior product manager. "Customers
are hungry for this technology because research shows that properties with
virtual tours generate more revenue."
