Price-predicting and travel-booking app Hopper has acquired PlacePass, a digital marketplace for tours and activities.

PlacePass' selection of some 300,000 experiences in 800-plus destinations is now available to Hopper app users.

In addition, travel sellers -- including travel agencies, airlines and hotels -- can now distribute PlacePass content through Hopper's recently established B2B program, Hopper Cloud, which also offers white-label travel portals for sellers that wish to self-brand PlacePass content.

"We are currently in a super-cycle of travel, with high consumer demand for novel tours and activities, Hopper CEO Frederik Lalonde said in a prepared remark. "It's a natural extension for Hopper to look holistically at the trip our customers are taking and offer the best experience to enrich the travel journey."

As part of the PlacePass acquisition, Hopper Cloud will take over as host of Marriott Bonvoy's tours and activities platform.

Hopper has grown rapidly during the Covid-19 pandemic and now boasts more than 70 million downloads. The company said it expects to exceed $2 billion in travel sales this year.

Hopper has announced funding raises of a combined $345 million this year.
