CHICAGO -- Whiplash, an Internet start-up company with an on-line
system for agents for planning and booking leisure trips, hired
travel technology veteran Lynne Rosenbaum as its president and
chief operating officer.
From 1993 through 1997, Rosenbaum was senior vice president of
marketing for Apollo Travel Services, now part of Galileo
International.
Prior to that, she held several senior positions in marketing,
sales and business planning with Covia Partnership and United
Airlines.
Most recently, Rosenbaum provided marketing and strategic
consulting to a variety of clients in travel-related and Internet
businesses, according to Whiplash.
Rosenbaum's first priority in her new job is to "drive business
expansion and raise market awareness for Whiplash by aggressively
pursuing partnerships with travel providers and travel agencies,"
the firm said.
Whiplash said it offers agents "the means to sell a broad range
of products and services leveraging the Internet to create a total
leisure travel experience for their customers," and it offers
suppliers the means to sell their products via the Internet and
expand their distribution reach in a cost-effective manner.
"Leisure travel is underserved by existing automation products,"
Rosenbaum said in a prepared statement.
