As the end of 2020 approached, more properties joined the list of those that had already reopened. Here's the update:

Wyndham Vacation Club reopened two properties on St. Thomas, both of which had been closed for renovations due to the 2017 hurricanes.

  • Limetree Beach Resort by Club Wyndham, formerly known as Bluebeard's Beach Club, has seven buildings and 74 remodeled vacation club suites, all with a kitchenette, separate living/dining area and balcony.
  • Club Wyndham Elysian Beach Resort on the eastern end of the island has 69 refurbished studio and one-bedroom suites.

Both properties welcome guests when units are not occupied by timeshare owners and pay commissions when booked through Extra Holidays.

Beaches Turks and Caicos reopened on Dec. 21 following several postponements. "The reopening feels like the biggest present of the year," said James McNally, the general manager.

Beaches Platinum Protocols of Cleanliness are in effect at the resort from guest arrival at the airport to departure.

Tamarijn Aruba All Inclusive has reopened, following a $5 million renovation that features expanded rooms, new culinary offerings, flexible booking policies and health and safety protocols through its enhanced Clean Check program.

The 11-room Golden Rock Inn is the third property to reopen on Nevis to international travelers, following the Four Seasons Nevis and Paradise Beach. All three have been inspected and approved by the chief medical officer to ensure that all health and safety protocols are in place.

Grand Lucayan on Grand Bahama Island will reopen the 196-room Lighthouse Pointe, the brand's all-inclusive offering, on Feb. 1, with rates from $220 per person, per night.Facilities will include four dining venues, the Senses Spa & Fitness Center, the convention center and wedding gazebos.

Hyatt Residences Club Dorado, Hacienda Del Mar in Dorado, Puerto Rico, has welcomed back owners, members and guests to the resort, which has been closed since hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. Features include new showers and redesigned villas with new furnishings and appliances.
