Antigua and Barbuda's Romantic Rhythms Music Festival, scheduled for mid-June, has been canceled due to the global economic crisis, said Eleston Adams of the the Caribbean country's Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Culture.
Eleson said that several options were considered, such as reducing the festival's length and the number of performers, "but we do not have the resources this year to match or better the standards set in 2008, which is why the event should be postponed."
"This will allow us to maintain the brand equity built in 2008 and give us an opportunity to plan a spectacular 2010," Eleson said.
