Concordia Eco Resort, located within the Virgin Islands National Park near Coral Bay on the southeast side of St. John, has reopened in time for the winter season.

The family-friendly property had been closed since Hurricane Irma tore through the region in 2017.

Accommodations include 17 Concordia "tents," which are spacious units that look more like rambling cottages or treehouses, with wraparound wooden decks set above the ground overlooking an array of bays, ponds, trails and beaches. Seven more units will be added this year.

Also offered are eight, completely remodeled resort studios with a microwave, mini-fridge, two burners and bathroom with shower. All units are solar-powered.

Concordia's restaurant is set to reopen shortly. Facilities onsite include a saltwater pool, large sun deck and free Wifi at the reception area and pool; hiking, snorkeling and diving are available.

Guests who book Concordia are urged to rent a Jeep for their stay.

An eight-night stay for two adults in a double room in mid-January is priced from $1,400.
